As part of this construction, two partial chilled water outages of the machine room will be required.

During each of these partial outages, some equipment in the machine room will be powered down to ensure adequate cooling for remaining equipment until chilled water service is fully restored.

TACC Staff plan to keep login nodes and file systems up and running during both outages so that users can interact with files, compile and submit jobs on those systems impacted by the outage as noted below. Note that no new jobs will run on the compute nodes until after the chilled water outage is completed.

Second outage: Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 6 a.m. (CT) to Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 5 p.m.

Resources affected: Ranger and Spur

All of the Ranger compute and Spur visualization nodes will be shut down.

Note that Ranch and Lonestar will not be impacted.
